Why You Should Visit the North Shore of Kauai, Hawaii's Garden Isle!

Kauai's legendary Na Pali Coast lies in the northwest part of the island, close to the north shore. In the summer, boat tours for the Na Pali Coast depart from Hanalei. 

Enjoy hiking? Kauai's most epic hiking trail, the Kalalau Trail, begins in Ha'ena State Park on the island's north shore. You can hike the whole trail (22 miles round trip), or day hike a part of it.

Snorkeling at Tunnels Beach is one of the most popular things to do in Kauai. But this scenic beach is worth visiting for the scenery alone!

The scenic north shore of Kauai has many must-stop photo spots. But possibly the best-known is the Hanalei Valley Lookout, right off the highway. The view over the valley is breathtaking!

The charming town of Hanalei offers lots of shops and galleries to browse. The historic green church of Hanalei makes for a great photo!

Numerous picturesque beaches wrap around  Kauai's north shore and you'll be spoiled for choice. Kauapea Beach,  also called Secret Beach, requires a hike to access. It's a great strolling beach!

At the end of Kilauea Road, a viewpoint offers great ocean views and views of the Kilauea Lighthouse. The lighthouse is the northernmost point in Hawaii!
