The east side of Oahu is a treasure trove of sights and attractions. Also known as the windward side, it is home to spectacular scenery and must-visit beaches.

HIke the Lanikai Pillbox Trail for epic views over the Pacific Ocean and the Mokulua Islands. Sunrise is a particularly scenic time to do this popular trail on Oahu's east side.

Drive through the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden for views of the Ko'olau Mountains. There's no fee, and you'll find plenty of places to walk and stroll among the plants and trees. 

Hikers looking for a challenge on Oahu's east side will want to consider the Koko Head Stairs. The steep climb  to the top rewards you with expansive views of the island of Oahu. 

Lanikai Beach is one of the prettiest beaches in Oahu. Watching a sunrise or sunset here is one of the most romantic things to do on Oahu. Park at nearby Kailua Beach Park: Kailua Beach is also lovely!

Kayaking to the tiny Mokulua Islands is one of the top activities on Oahu's windward side. You can even land on one with a permit. The views are great! Join a half-day tour or go on your own.
